Financial District | The Canyon of Heroes

This is what happens when you decide to attend a victory parade for the Yankees a mere 90 minutes beforehand; you get stuck in a side canyon with an amazing view of the back of a thousand of Yankee caps. Enormous thunder claps of cheering would break out near me not because anyone could see anything but because the crowd closer to the parade route was cheering.

Fans had camped out before dawn for the best seats in the early November chill, bars had run out of food and beer by noon, and when the parade ended, it took so long and so much effort to leave, taking almost an hour to move two blocks, that people near me literally started to panic.
