Have you been to Times Square?
Just imagine you are at Broadway and 42nd and there has been a seven car pile up with fire trucks, ambulances, police sirens, tourists, dudes in Spiderman outfits, dudes selling hot nuts, people offering tickets for tours and shows, people hawking fake purses and rows of artists doing caricatures.
That is what Old Delhi is like, at all hours of the day, throughout the night, almost every corner or alleyway has this density, this level of noise, this vibrant energy.
Good lord. Traveling to many parts of India require you to jump in with both feet, all the way in, don’t hold on, just fucking leap. It is truly stupendous and can be overwhelming.
Oh, and the best street food, second only to Bangkok.
