I’ve never sent my Leicas to the official repair services offered by the company. I am sure things have changed but back in the day, there were only two trusted service technicians that we would mail off our gear to: Erwin Puts and Sherry Krauter, both of whom worked at Leica USA.

I have used Sherry several times over the years. And the cameras and lenses always came back buttery smooth.

The last camera I sent to Sherry for a repair and a CLA took months to be returned and the film advance mechanism was so insanely tight that I tore a roll of film trying to advance the frame.

Oh, well.

Now there is a good selection of repair services to choose from which are listed below.

Mr Camera and Johnny Martyr have a good list of service techs as well, but I have not personally used the services listed.
